Consultation

The first step in any of our treatments is an in-depth consultation. We will get to know you, your concerns, and why you’re seeking labiaplasty, and we will also answer any questions you have about the procedure. We will then create your unique treatment plan.

Labiaplasty

Before your procedure, we will answer any remaining questions you have. Your provider will begin by using local anesthesia to numb the area, then use a scalpel or radiofrequency wand to carefully remove the extra tissue in order to reshape and reduce the size of your labia.

Next Steps

After your procedure, we will provide you with verbal and written after-care instructions and answer your questions. You’ll need 2-3 days of limited activity and 6 weeks for full recovery.

Prior to Labiaplasty in Austin, Helio Health and Wellness Recommends:

No Smoking/Alcohol

Do not smoke in the 4 weeks before labiaplasty, as smoking prolongs healing times. Don’t consume alcohol in the few days leading up to your procedure.

Avoid These Medications

Avoid aspirin, Ibuprofen, vitamin E, blood thinners, omega-3, fish oil. If you have any prescriptions containing these, check with your doctor before stopping.

The Night Before

Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery.

Following Labiaplasty in Austin, Helio Health and Wellness Recommends:

Avoid These Medications

Avoid aspirin, Ibuprofen, vitamin E, blood thinners, omega-3, and fish oil for 2 weeks following your procedure. If you have any prescriptions containing these, check with your doctor before stopping. Your provider will let you know what you can take for any pain.

No Exercise

Do not exercise for the first 2 weeks following the procedure.

Abstain From Sex

You will not be able to engage in sexual intercourse for 6 to 8 weeks following the procedure.

Use Cold Compress 

Use a cold compress on the area for any swelling.

Wear Loose Clothing

Wear loose clothing to reduce irritation.

Is the labiaplasty procedure painful?

Local anesthetic is used, so discomfort during the procedure is minimal.  Some women may have labiaplasty done under IV sedation in the surgery center located within our building. You will probably experience mild swelling and discomfort for a few days to a week after the procedure.

Who is a good candidate for labiaplasty?

Good candidates for labiaplasty are those who are at least 18 years old, in generally good health, and are concerned about the aesthetic appeal or functionality of their labia.
