Brittany Key, PA-C
Brittany was born and raised in Round Rock. After completing her schooling, she returned to the Austin area and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Concordia University in 2004. In her last semester at Concordia, Brittany was accepted into the Physician Assistant Program at the University of Texas Pan American. From there, she relocated to Edinburg, Texas and remained there for two years until graduating with her Physician Assistant Degree in 2006. While at University of Pan American, she was the recipient of the 2006 JCAPAS Clinical Excellence Award.
As someone with a family history of breast and ovarian cancer, Brittany has a special love for women’s healthcare. After losing her Mom to ovarian cancer, Brittany became more determined to care for women’s needs and work in a practice where she could truly make a difference. Before joining our team here at Helio Health & Wellness, Brittany was a long-standing member of the Renaissance Women’s Group. Prior to that, she worked in a gynecology practice for six years. As a member of the Association of Physician Assistants in Obstetrics & Gynecology (APAOG) and the Central Texas PA Society, Brittany has contributed immensely to the wellbeing of thousands of women.
Brittany and her husband have two “furry” children. She spends a lot of her free time with her dogs, Max and Miller. Besides trips to the dog park, she enjoys her time off reading and taking trips to the lake.
Callie McKimmey, APRN, FNP-C
Callie is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington where she completed her Masters of Science in Nursing before becoming a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She received various awards while working as an RN in specialties including medical-surgical, oncology, ER, hospice, and family medicine. Although she enjoyed it all, it was during her NP program that she really fell in love with the issues specific to women’s health and wellness.
Callie has a natural ability to connect with her patients on a human level and make the most vulnerable and sensitive situations feel comfortable. She feels strongly about preserving her patients’ autonomy by giving them the most up-to-date information, options, and resources available so that they can make empowered decisions about their own health and bodies. She believes in the power of the mind-body connection, a holistic approach to health, and finding the root cause of symptoms and disease. Most recently, Callie has developed a special interest in how hormone imbalances are too often overlooked, underemphasized, and mistreated. As her patient, you can expect her to be thorough, attentive, proactive, curious, and nonjudgmental.
When Callie’s not at work, she’s likely hanging out with her husband and their baby boy, Luca. She loves cooking, exercising, podcasts, being outdoors, entertaining friends, and taking family walks with their other (four-legged) children, Mildred and Gertrude.
